Queen's Own Highlanders, Belize and Germany, 1987-89; Higher Command and Staff Course, Camberley, 1991; Military Adviser to UN Mission, Iraq and Kuwait, 1991; Commander, 24 Airmobile Brigade, 1993-94; Royal College of Defence Studies, 1995; Army Director of Manning and Career Management, 1996-98; Managing Director, OSCE Mission in Kosovo, 1999; GOC, 5 Division, 2000.
