About 3' miles above Ballindalloch on the bank of the Avon stands a 16th century oblong tower
History

Built by the Stewarts, whose ancestor Alexander, 4th son of Robert II, originally owned and first developed the estate in the 14th century. Considerable additions were made in the 18th century and it was the property of George Matheson in the 19th century.
